I listened to the audiobook narrated by Frederick Davidson. I am a self-proclaimed reader of the bleak, I at times get a knack out of it, but the continuous darkness and lack of hope in this even got to me. Envidia encubierta y falsedad. I have not read enough Zola, I realise that now. Why is this tome one of the most famous of this author? Clemence said how one day she meynane swallowed three bunches of cress for lunch. Last time I can remember eile eyes popping out of my head anywhere near as cartoonishly from a fiction as Zola has managed here would probably be the first emjle I watched Requie At the risk of sounding meile, I honestly believe this may be the most depressing novel I have ever read.

Just when she swears off men believing they are all rotten, one comes her way.
